WHAT IS TED?
TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, and Design. It's a global platform devoted to spreading "ideas worth sharing." TED hosts conferences where influential speakers - scientists, leaders, artists, entrepreneurs, and thinkers - deliver short, powerful talks (usually under 18 minutes) on ideas that can inspire change or shift perspectives.
TED is organised by the TED Foundation (USA) and started in 1984.
WHAT IS TEDx?
TEDx events are independently organized conferences licensed by TED, where speakers from different fields share powerful ideas, stories, and innovations through short, impactful talks.
Although they follow TED’s format and guidelines, TEDx events are planned and run by local volunteers who want to bring meaningful conversations to their own community.
